Proposals Manager (Permanent)- US
Role Summary
We are seeking a Manager to join the Pitch Centre at our new Global Centre (US) in New York. This role will report into the Pitch Centre Lead.
The primary focus of the role is to:

Work closely with the Pitch Centre team, front office MBD roles and relevant partners to manage the pitch process; develop pitches; and improve the quality of pitch and proposal writing at Freshfields in support of the needs of Freshfields business in the US and, as agreed with other regions;

Be responsible for identifying and implementing best practices for pitch writing and ensuring that the quality of Freshfields pitch and proposal responses lead the market;

Be responsible for taking the lead in maintaining firmwide pitch templates and standard wording, while working in collaboration with managers from other Freshfields Pitch Centres, to ensure best practice for those resources internationally and regionally.
Key Responsibilities
Pitch Centre Development

Support a regional and international approach to the management and delivery of pitches (and other response to opportunity formats) to develop the role of the Pitch Centre within the Marketing and Business Development function in support of improving our ability to win business.
Pitching Service Management

Provide input to pitching decisions and serve as a central contact point for fee-earners for pitches produced by the Pitch Centre in the US;

Serve as a lead pitch writer;

Manage pitches end-to-end; from initial partner briefing through to debrief, as relevant;

Work closely with the fee earners and other MBD team members, as appropriate to the type of opportunity, to develop persuasive, compelling and effective pitches;

Work closely with the Experience Executives, to further develop the pitch brief and ensure that the information identified by them is relevant to each specific opportunity for which we are pitching;

Develop a solid understanding of Freshfields, including relevant practice and sector areas, as well as our competitive positioning vis-à-vis competitors;

Collaborate effectively with other Pitch Centre teams within Freshfields and with front office MBD team to develop the quality and effectiveness of our pitching service;

Ensure that each pitch is logged; solicit and record the outcome together with any feedback;

Ensure that responses are of high quality and adhere to best practice processes, including response format.
