Oracle Consulting provides customers and partners with advisory and delivery services for the implementation and optimisation of Oracle-based solutions.

We sell and deliver projects ranging from single product implementations to multi-national, integrated, cross-domain cloud-based, on-premise or hybrid solutions including the full stack from enterprise applications through technology platforms and hardware.

We are growing the business and have an immediate requirement for additional Project and Programme Managers who have excellent customer facing skills, coupled with delivery experience ideally using Oracle software and/or hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead customer programmes and projects in some or or all of the areas of ERP, HCM, Customer Experience, Business Analytics, Digital, Integration and Platform Migration.
  • Work with the Oracle account team to develop quality proposals including project approach, work plans, resource plans.
  • Assist Consulting Sales Representatives in drafting and reviewing contract exhibits.
  • Work closely with the client and project team to assure delivery against key business requirements / scope, time, quality and budget.
  • Work with the customer to define, establish and implement effective and appropriate governance arrangements ensuring that Oracle are represented effectively at all appropriate levels.
  • Work with the Oracle account team to manage and communicate with client stakeholders, acting as the primary interface regarding project delivery.
  • Develop Project Management Plans in conjunction with the client, early in the project lifecycle to set governance standards for delivery. 
  • Develop and regularly maintain project work plans, resource plans and project revenue forecasts.
  • Clearly report project status internally and to the client to agreed standards.
  • Work with Oracle Consulting practices, resource managers and offshore teams to fill project resource requirements.
  • Work with Oracle license and systems sales teams, support services and cloud operations teams and global business units to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Ensure early visibility of and development of mitigation plans for project risks and issues and track actions.
  • Manage project changes, raising or processing change requests in a timely manner, and working with the Consulting Sales Representative for contract amendments.
  • Setup working approaches and appropriate intervention to maximise quality of engagement work products, solutions, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with Oracle and client policies.
  • Drive mutually beneficial incremental client value and business opportunities for Oracle.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements (assess, recommend, and implement recommendations).
  • Own delivery of the business outcome and motivate consulting engagement teams to deliver exceptional solutions to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Constantly contribute to the improvement of Oracle delivery methods and improving client success

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years programme or project management experience. Ideally the candidate will have experience in the Financial Services sector but all market sectors will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience of full life cycle Oracle Applications, Technology or Systems implementation. Alternatively experience implementing similar solutions will be considered.
  • Experience will be in customer-facing roles, preferably as part of an IT professional services organization.
  • Track record of building relationships at C-level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Aptitude to work as part of cross line of business teams.
  • Able to manage and forecast against large project budgets
  • Proven track record of delivering large projects on time and budget to a high quality.
  • Education and experience required:
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Programme Management (MSP)
  • Project Management Qualifications, (PRINCE2, ScrumMaster)
  • Membership of a professional project management community(PMI, PMP)
  • Self-motivated, able to thrive in an environment where your next engagement and challenge is not prescribed to you.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to technology, people management and building relationships
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home.

As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior level consulting position is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions with industry-wide impact. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.

10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Management or team leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
